VITIS BIOCOMPLEX M is a powder extract standardized in high healthy active compounds (anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins) contained in sicilian red grape cultivars.

VITIS BIOCOMPLEX M contains all the active compounds of red wine and can be used in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases or to support treatments of subjects with cardiovascular damages. Polyphenols contained in red wine are able to counteract the oxidative processes that promote cardiovascular pathogenesis and, in particular, inhibit plasmatic LDL oxidation, one of the main cause of atherosclerosis plaque formation (1-6).

VITIS BIOCOMPLEX M can be used in the formulation of dietary supplements and functional foods (solids and instantaneous drinks) to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Highly qualified epidemiologic studies have shown a strict correlation between moderate red wine consumption and cardiovascular diseases reduction, commonly known as “the French paradox”(1). In the recent years, increasing evidence in scientific literature has proven the cardioprotective effect of red wine intake (2-6):

  • Red wine and its extracts inhibited low density lipoproteins (LDL) oxidation, a process implicated in the development of atherosclerosis.
  • The healthy effects of red wine have been attributed to the main phenolic compounds contained in red wine, such as anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins and catechins.

VITIS BIOCOMPLEX M is a powder extract enriched with all the active compounds of red wine, naturally contained in high concentrations in Sicilian grape variety.
